Evening Primrose
Evening primrose are supposed to flower at dusk with the blooms dying the next day. That might explain why I only found two sad yellow flowers like this one, both definitely not at their peak. I will have to go and look tonight and see if I can watch them bloom before my eyes. I have seen this once in a friend's garden and it was like watching a miracle. They open up rather quickly and spectacularly and are a true joy to watch. What luck to find some in the meadow out back only steps from our deck.

Garden Flowers
Though feeling dreadfully under the weather, I managed to muster enough energy to get myself and my camera outdoors after it rained to take some pics in my garden. Everything is so lush and big this year.

Starling
My nature-lovin' fella rescued a stunned starling the other day and moved him out of harm's way to our peaceful yard. He sat on our umbrella tree for a long time recovering and then his mama came over and gave him a piece of her mind. There was some heated dialogue between the two and finally the young 'un flew off to a nearby tree. Guess mama won that argument!

Fog
My husband spotted some free furniture while taking his evening walk and took me for a short drive to see if it was anything I could spiff up. Both pieces weren't in very good shape but the scenery was a different story. A lovely fog was rolling in over the farmer's field. We hightailed it home so that I could grab my camera. We only had a few minutes of daylight to work with but the moments were magical. The fog transformed the ordinary field into a mystical land enclosed in a farmer's fence. Too, too pretty.
